As usual, I start with the meaning or origin of the let ter in question:

For all of us, with the letter T in our names, me included:

T” represents development.
Bustle and activity motivate this letter. Persons having this letter in their name tend to be restless. They need to keep --- read more I must read more;-)))

To day Anna and Sylvi went to the Shop, walking. It's about 30 minutes.

On their way back, they went to the Beach. Nobody else around. Did they then wear Bikinis or swimming suits? Papa was not there, but I can confirm there were no wet swimming equipments when they arrived the Summerhouse some minutes after their Bath;-))

Well, Dinner had to be prepared.

Simple as you see. But nothing artificial. hmmm?

We had expected kittens to report - but ---- , ok, they will be posted as soon as they arrive - very soon now)

Here they are, Anna and Sylvi playing Chinese Checkar (kina sjakk)- at least that's what's called here. What a play. It was still light outside around 10 pm. But a bit chilly.

This week I will start with what most foreigners think about Norway: Snow - sne. And this is from our Summerhouse - sommerhus. Two S words on the same Photo.
OK. It might be more: Snow Crystals - snekrystaller.

When we first are in the Nature:
Sunrise - soloppgang.
Here from Capitola, Monterey Bay, in California.
I just wake up and took the photo from our Hotel Balconny.

Sun - Sol comes up and even goes down: Sunset - solnedgang. Here from Seaside in Northern Oregon. (Seaside in Norwegian: Sjöside).

From Sun to Stones. Yes, we have lot's of Stone - Stein in Norway.

Well, it's Summer Time - sommertid. For the moment we have what we call "The Green Winter" - what's then better than a hot Soup - suppe?

Stalheim - view down to Naeroy valley and Sognefjord

From Norway and going west across the Sea - sjö to Michigan in USA.
My Son - sønn is sitting - sitter with his wife on a bench (benk) looking over the Beach of Saint Joseph. Charming - sjarmerende.
Did you know that Michigan state - stat, do have more Light Houses than other states in the US?

We have two cats. They are Sisters - söstre (Felicia and Rosa). Born Oct 31 - 2002.

When talking about Family (familie):
This is my grandson Sebastian, some years ago.

When in Norway, what more than nature and snow and polar bears are this country known for?

And continue even higher to the Salar Grande - What you see is Salt - salt. At 3500 meters above Sea level. It's really a huge bassin of natural salt. Once a lake. In the Andes.

When in South America, the let us visit a Sculpture - skulptur at Place des Armas in Santiago de Chile. We had Coffee in the morning in the Arcades to the right.

It's a long way from Santiago to San Francisco - here from Fiskermens Wharf.

And from San Francisco to the Sandy Beaches - sandsterendene in NE Brazil, Ceare state.
545 km undisturbed sandy - sand beaches. You can even see persons sitting - sitter on the horses. And the Sea - sjö in the background.

we are still alive.

Miooour miousin Stompa here. He is a you might see a real Manx breed. No tail. relaxing on a rock. My regular readers do know he is a bit shy. Allmost 10 years now.

Felicia loves Flowers. We can smell every morning and afternoon where she has been;-)

Felicia is very hungry. Some unseen kitten to feed.

Nooo, this is papa's food - but all for the kitten to come - I accept

I did not take a single photo of their hunt during last Night.
Only some tails left and spots of blood. Could be too strong scenes for people with weak Hearts.

Who is here? The person that inspired and in a kind of way forced me to start blogging: Renny. We have posted lot's of common experiences in the last years. Here you see him just after he did a Speech at one of my Seminars.

Ok - lets move to real words, not names. This is a Room - Rom. (People and Cats are living there)

Everybody has roots, animals and plants. This is one Root - rot here outside our Summer Home.

We have had about 10 Days (so far) this Summer here around Oslo, Norway (60 degrees North) with Daylight temperatures in the Shadow 30-33 C ( 90 F +). Here you see Rosa - Rosa relaxing in the afternoon on the Roof. She Repeats - repeterer this behaviour every late afternoon.

Ruccola - Ruccula is then a fabulous ingrediens to our Summer Mix Salad. Just 2 seconds outside. mmmm

Then I went out in our Summer House Garden. It's many red flowers there. But, since the ABC challenge is R, here is a double R: Red Roses - Röde Roser (well, you can see they are over their best blossom)

After a good meal, we like Cheese.
What kind? Roquefort (We have been there)

What is this this? Papa singing in the Rain - regn. Can Papa sing or does he perform a Rain Dance - regndans -? This was only a fraction of Words presented with own Photos and some words, same meaning in English and Norwegian.

Papa has a new weekend with 3 women plus 3 Cats

In the Heath of the Norwegian high summer, papa had once again 3 women around.
What is the old man up to? Hmmm. You can see for your self.

You are hereby invited to a Weekend in Summer Norway. Hope you enjoy, and once and for all got rid of the idea of Polar Bear in the Streets. Do you hear me?

Here you see them, Anna, Sölvi and Ingelin. Do they allways eat?

As you might know, Ingelin are expecting her first baby in mid October. Can you see it?
And she is also finalizing her Master Degree.. (Still eating, you see - at least one- hmmm)

We had a Cremant de Bourgogne Rose. As a Welcome. Ingeling had Water.

Stompa is back in his Summer paradise. When he arrived he acted like he has allways lived here. We can understand. After all, in the past Summers he has had his Vacations here for 4-6 weeks.

It was a Hot Weekend. Regarding temperature!
32 C (90 F) in Norway is not very usual.
You can see how the heath (What else. LOL) impact on Papas mind. Some mistakes here. But it ended well.

Then it's nice we have only walking distance to the Fiord. Lot's of Boats and Water activities.

Anna and even Sölvi - her head is above Sea level out there. LOL.

Anna - after Swimming. Cold? Well Vikings our age can swim when 20C + (It's 22 C now). That's around 70 F plus/minus.

Boats - and Hills - Looks exotic?

Beach and a narrow sound - We live up in the Hills to the left.

Papa with a well deserved Ice Cream (Lemon and Rasberry Sorbets).
After all he had to go shopping while the Women were relaxing at the Beach;-))

And a wonderful fresh Salad for Dinner.
Papa must admit, there were some Sparkling Wine as well. Cremant de Luxembourg.

The Flowers also did have a wonderful weekend.

Monday Papa left for job and fixing the car before 8 am. Sölvi left with the bus
around 9 am. Anna slept until - haha- not to be revealed. She's on Vacation.

Papa is still busy.

Difficult?

Yes, it was very difficult.

There are only 3 words in a Norwegian Dictionary that begins with the letter Q.

(Ok, in professions there are more. Among others in Movie and TV productions: To give a Que - a signal to begin or stop something)

Besides only two of them, in the Dictionary) have equal meanings in both Languages.

Since I do not have a proper photo of me dancing Quickstep - Quickstep, I have to choose the last one.

A word and a name that allmost all Norwegians really regrets has it's origin from Peaceful Norway:

Ok, I will show you some photos from Vidkun Quislings residence. (I was born not far away ) and I'll tell you something more (Quisling was executed in 1945) . So fasten your seatbelts. He name it Gimle. (no)

When I was young, just after World War II, the Traitor's or Quisling's (ggrrrrr - his name has become a synonymous for a Traitor) residence was used as a home for elderly people that needed healt care. Every May 17, Norways National Day, the local school parade stopped in the back yard and played (The School Brass Band) and all we kids shoutet Hurra-hurra-hurra (Hurray).

What a change - from the Traitors home to a good Home for elderly people that needed care and daily treatmeant. (I'm really sorry that I'm not able to present a Photo - Black and White) from that time - I do have, but not here in the Summerhome)

We boys, did discover a "secret" Cellar, and our Fantasies were scary: What's inside? Nazies still living? Killed people? Bombs and Granates? I remember we could have Nightmares only thinking about it.

What happend afterwards?
It was transformed to The Norwegian National Education Center for the Midwifes.

(Let me be honest - many of the local young men were very interested regarding the Students - LOL)

Another Weeekend has passed.
Anna is now in Summer Vacation. I have tons of work to do, still.

Here is our "Dinner" last Friday. Very simple, so to say.

Saturday we went to downtown Oslo for a Concert. To the benefit of a Yacht Club.
Happens to be in the Area where Anna does teach at the local School.

In Norway to day, there are more than 20 different types to be bought. For different uses and meals. Those above are well down in the soil in our Summer Garden.

Also important is Rosa’s (one our Cats) favourite dry-food from Purina..
I cannot beleive how that big company can present such confusional web-sites. When searching for Cat food, they present a photo of a Dog.

Hm, many people are dependent of Pills - piller and fell asleep with their head on a Pillow - pute.

Sometimes calculations can be of value.

I do some research my self and then is Percent – prosent of importance. Who said what in a Quest. Understand?

Please now be prepared for some trips far away from Norway.

Talking about myself, I’m a Papa – pappa - Here with daughter in Key West, Florida.

We have been to Parati – Paraty in Brasil. The old town, at the UNESCO World Heritage List.

The village is build in Portuguese - Portugisisk colonial style. (Photo scanned from Slide)

Here you see the Pier - pir in Puerto Montt in Chile. We were there in 1994. (Photo scanned from Slide)
This is the main Fishing Town in Chile. Situated about 1000 km (630 miles) south of Santiago.

Go down from Santiago by bus. You will not believe the Comfort and Service. Then rent a Car and

discover an amazing country on your way back to santiago. And do not forget to respect the indigenous: Mapuches. They have never been conquered by the White Man.

And we did visit a Volcano in Northern Chile, on the border between Chile and Bolivia – Parinacota. 6348 masl or 20,827 feet – I must say: If you have the chance, go up there. You’ll never forget. At least to Lago Chungara. You will see Birds and Animals that only lives here.

Well, lets go back to Norway:

The Lock is made from plastic - just easy to turn and Lock.

Then, we are leaving Norway and going East. To Sweden and the Gothic Canal.

Flower Chaos - Power Outage - Garden work and Wonderful Pre-Summer

So to Speak all in one.
In one weekend.

Well, it was warm and dry during this weekend. The seeds needed watering. It's rather steep, as you can see. And we arranged the watering the lazy way. LOL.

And papa did buy more flowers and herbs. For a while our Platform looked very chaotic.

And it was as well something to repair. While we still had Power.
- papa not shaved - out of gas and electricity - besides - haha - a loooong weekend.

Saturday we had a Power Outage from 2 pm until 7:30 pm. Caused by a sailboat that hit the Air-Cables to the Island just down under us.

After all, we prepared Dinner old-fashioned.

The Dinner tasted very well. Baked Potatos, Pepper, Tomtatoes, Fresh Herbs, Whale Beef.

Basilikum we call these herbs - in Norwegian.
We have lot's of them - because we like the taste.

Our servant helped us with the Flowers. As you can see, she is very poor. But we paid her as deserved, with a couple of new Summer Dresses and food as well.
Which is probably more than GM can offer for their 250.000 plus employees.
What a sad and dramatic story. I'm thinking about all those wonderful people in Michigan ---
I have no words - you, my regular readers do know my youngest son is living in MI.

Do not blame the Photographer. It's after Midnight. We had very wellcomed, unexpected visitors. And lit up our outdoor fireplace.

Next Day it was time for cutting Branches. In the very steep terrain, well, two days after I still feel stiff. There is no stabel place to stand. Assistance was needed to climb safely down again as well.
And there are many more trees to cut.

Here you see the result - and this is only the very first beginning. It's steep, right?
All the "Jungle" in the background are to be cut down this Summer and used as heating in our Fireplace during the Fall.
Down right, we have Herbs. One of several spots.

Monday afternoon, it was still many boats out at the Oslofjord.
A wonderful pre-summer we had this Pentecoste Long Weekened, with clear blue sky and temperatures 24-28 C (75 - 82,5 F), which we Norwegians considers very comfortable.
On the other hand, mountain roads were block - avalanches and strong winds.

Words/objects beginning with M in both English and Norwgegian and meaning the very same, are that many I could present one each day in more than a year. Did you believe that?

Let's start with the most important:

Man - Mann or as here: Men - Menn, in fact in Menton (France) in front of a Monument - Monument. These waterfontains was also an important Meeting Place - Møteplass for centuries.
Here you see two of my friends. Hakon to the left is living in France, 30 minutes from Nice, while Gunnar has an appartement in Menton.

I you are of the Romantic type: Moon - måne ( the second letter which some of you might not see is an "a-ring" pronounced like the o in more) you probably like this view from a hotel in Capitola. The Photo shows Moonshine - Måneskinn over Monterey Bay (California).

Manx - Manx is the answere if you want to have a trusted and also lively cat. They are Masters (Mestre) in climbing, jumping and hunting. Here is a Manx kitten.

We have now Holydays here in Norway, Pentecost (pinse), at least a long weekend - no work on Monday. What then is better to taste a good Mumm - Mumm?
