PhotoHunt: Hanging - July 26 -2008
The most extreme "hanging" I've ever seen is this "Toilettes/WC/Latrine" hanging outside Lacko Castle. A Castle for the Kings, Dukes, Generals, the rich and famous in Sweden.
Can you believe it? Well, it was of course several hundreds of years ago, no plumbing etc.
May be they were used to smells most of us dislike these days. LOL.
More serious facts to come from the Castle. pls be patient. OK?

Not playing, but wanted to comment. Ewwwwwwwwwww, I wouldn't be hanging around to smell that. Bwahahahahaha. Have a great day. :)
You always have an eye for special details Tor
I will post about our wonderful visit at the castle later this week of course, but not with extreme hanging like this :-)
I might just hold my pee if I'm ever in that castle :P
Have a blessed weekend!!
p/s: I hope your daughter will enjoy her trip to Singapore :)
That's interesting. I never thought about how they would have the bathrooms in a castle. Was that a room for the chamber pot? Was it dumped into the moat? See, you got me thinking about that now...LOL
I've seen that a lot in the medieval borgos of Italy - the added on bathrooms. :)
Ewww...But yes, I agree, there was still no plumbing then. Maybe the people got used to the "Royal" poop :D
That would be rather rank. Hard to imagine. I'd rather go outside.
Interesting! never seen this over here! Hope you are having a great summer and still enjoyinbg the LONG evenings before they suddenly get shorter! I have noticed the difference already! Rainy summer here and the bugs are horrible.
So is it a little room? or just.. like.... hmmm well hmmm didyou try it?
Thats a good entry for this week's meme....Happy weekend.
I wouldn't want to test their engineering or their carpentry, LOL! ;o)
Looking forward to hearing more about the castle.
I just came from Renny's blog about your trip to the island.
Happy weekend!
Love and hugs,
Diane
Yes indeed, very glad I don't live in those days! Have a good weekend Toraa.
Don't tell me it's still in use! Not my style, I'm afraid...too high.
i don't know if i can ever do my "business" in there if i'm around that century. The floor can give way any time..oopss..
But thanks for sharing. This is sure interesting ;)
Pearl - have a good weekend!
Think I would just have to hold it, thank you very much. Funny pick for The Hunt! ;-)
That is certainly something different. I wouldn't want to have lived in those days! :)
Tor, you have an award on my blog.
Nice shot~
Ok, we will wait for the continuing story from the castle~
Hahaha ! and I have a cable car ! (not to go to your hanging toilet !)
that is hanging, I had never thought of how they managed these problems. I see now, gravity.
OMG!! I won't be able to do my business in this toilet! What do they use the droppings for? haha...
Hmm, I think I'd rather have an outhouse! That is indeed one of the most unusual hanging entries I've seen today.
I'm a bit late for photohunt today… Cool catch for today's theme... Mine's up too hope you can drop by... Happy weekend!
Wow, that's really crazy! What an interesting photo.
eek, could you imagine having to use that?!
WOW ~ fascinating extremity and amazing to see history of the toilet like that which is still alive.
Oh, I've always wanted to visit Läckö slott and now even more!!!!
I really don't know if I'd have dared to go to that toilet.... *giggles*
