Vacation report 5: Nancy in Daylight

When in France during Summertime, relaxe and have a refreshment.
We had two Nights in Nancy in North East France. And thus a whole Day with Blue Sky and comfortable Temperature - around 28 C in the Shadow.

We went down to Place Stanislas. It's really a jewel, and a kept secret for most foreigners to France. And the nearby old City and the Parc are both marvelous as well. So when you think about visiting France: Have Nancy on your travel menu as well. Besides, it's only 90 minutes away from Paris with the TGV - The High Speed Train.

Below is som glimpses from Nancy.

Place Stanislas and the City Hall - in Daylight. Papa does have lot's memories.

Stanislas - the Momument

Details from a Lamp. At Place Stanislas.

The entrence to the City Park is marvellous.

Details....

Here is a view from Place Stanislas towards one of the Churches.

Another view, this thime from Place General de Gaulle, and the entrence to the Place Stanislas the background.

Lot's of flowers in the City Park.

And living animals. Oh, ain't they cute?

Is this a Street Car (Tram) - a Bus or a Trolley Bus? It's a combination I've never seen before.
It has a mono-rail, rubber-wheels like an ordinary bus and goes on electricity.

Here is another capture from the Local, Indoor Market in Nancy.

More from the Indoor Market in Nancy. Cheese. Smile. Be happy.

Next time, I'll bring you to the Middle of France. The home of George Sand and after that to visit the Village of Sancerre, famous for it's high Quality White Wine. And also from Bourges.

What a beautiful place. I got stuck at the cheese counter though. I've got several cheeses and am now looking for some French bread and some wine. Care to join me.

Have a terrific day. Big hug to you and Anna. :)

Apparently there was a lot to see on your way back. What a long trip. I just came back from the English South East coast where I spent a lovely week with my friends. On the way back I stayed a day in London before taking the Eurostar home. Was great. Today I am a little homesick, lol !

What a beautiful town! It's the town of Roseline! She was born and her husband too in a little town near Nancy: Commercy. Did you remember my friend who couldn't stay with us a long time because she had a trip to La Croatie?!

It looks like there must be a rich cultural history in Nancy. I would really love to visit there sometime. The entrance to the park looks amazing.
