Papa has to do what Papa has to do - vacation

Both Anna and Solvi have Vacation, but papa did work this morning and even this evening. In the meantime, he had to do what a man have to do these days:
Beeing women's Chauffeur. They wanted to go to Sweden.Shopping of course. It’s not that far from the Summer House – let’s say around 75 minutes. Each way. Plus 2 hours Shopping.
Papa went hungry, so he bought a baguette ++.
When the women in question discovered that fact, what do you think happened?
We agreed upon to find a nice place to have an open air luncheon.
10-15 minutes off the Motorway. Idyllic?
Here you see them - Open Air Lunch.
Mind you: A dangerous place - Sea cabel just beside. Woman and warning Signs?
Papa is just a driver...
Can you see the Fish?
Don't worry, papa could not see them either;-)
Papa went for a short walk, and enjoyed this house and garden
Is it a Summer House? Or do people live here year around?
The Ladies are enjoyoing their Shrimp Salad. Papa suspects it was some sweets in the plastic bag. Who knows. After all. the both of them were very pleased;-)
PS. When back in our Summer House 9 out of 10 sweet pastries were missing. Mysterious. LOL.
Saturday we are going to Istanbul. Hope my PC will work from there. For short reports.
Have a great time everybody.
PS 2: Will you join me at Paradise Beach, to learn how the History of Northern Europe Change around 1808?

Vacation report 5: Nancy in Daylight

When in France during Summertime, relaxe and have a refreshment.
We had two Nights in Nancy in North East France. And thus a whole Day with Blue Sky and comfortable Temperature - around 28 C in the Shadow.

We went down to Place Stanislas. It's really a jewel, and a kept secret for most foreigners to France. And the nearby old City and the Parc are both marvelous as well. So when you think about visiting France: Have Nancy on your travel menu as well. Besides, it's only 90 minutes away from Paris with the TGV - The High Speed Train.

Below is som glimpses from Nancy.

Place Stanislas and the City Hall - in Daylight. Papa does have lot's memories.

Stanislas - the Momument

Details from a Lamp. At Place Stanislas.

The entrence to the City Park is marvellous.

Details....

Here is a view from Place Stanislas towards one of the Churches.

Another view, this thime from Place General de Gaulle, and the entrence to the Place Stanislas the background.

Lot's of flowers in the City Park.

And living animals. Oh, ain't they cute?

Is this a Street Car (Tram) - a Bus or a Trolley Bus? It's a combination I've never seen before.
It has a mono-rail, rubber-wheels like an ordinary bus and goes on electricity.

Here is another capture from the Local, Indoor Market in Nancy.

More from the Indoor Market in Nancy. Cheese. Smile. Be happy.

Next time, I'll bring you to the Middle of France. The home of George Sand and after that to visit the Village of Sancerre, famous for it's high Quality White Wine. And also from Bourges.

Papa goes on Vacation - report 2 - The Pirat Traveller

Here is the Pirate Tourist in blood and flesh:
We are still in Nancy, the Capital of the former Dukedome of Lorraine.

Papa went crazy to day. He became a Pirate.
Why? Because he went to the Food Market without having a Kitchen on his disposal.

Here are a very few glimpse, hence you know why papa wanted to steal all what he did see.

Oysters from Marennes, western France. Papa has been there several times and bougth several dousins of Oysters directly from the Oyster Farmers
.

Local "Charcuterie", made at local Farms.

Vegetables, all sorts from local producers.

And look at this - oh, Papa went allmost crazy.
This is only 5% of the different cheeses available at this Market in Nancy.

Much more from Nancy, when back home. You can see, we had a wonderful, Sunny day.

Tomorrow we will go to the middle of France to meet old French friends. 6-7 hours drive.

Stay tuned. I'll be back with short reports whenever I can.
And as said before, excuse me for not commenting very much during our Vacation.

Papa drives with treasures and arrived safely to his Summerhome

We left our beloved friends early this afternoon.
Leaving ain't easy. Hugs and hugs and great memories.

In our Car, was a special treasure: Diane's youngest Son Kyle. Anna preferred to be in the Back Seat. Why? Reading. She finnished her book 2 minutes before arriving our Summer home. Perfect planning - hehe.

We stopped here for a late lunch. After 2 1/2 hours driving. Outside temperature 30-32 C. (86-90 F). No problem - when having a Car with AC. And Cruise Control.

Then we dropped him off at a Railway Station. In order to - for all of us - to find the most practical way to our homes.

When back in the Summer House - who was there?

Ingelin, of course.

We did have have a very pleasant evening in the mild Climate. When we went to bed - still around 25C or 75 F.

More to come from Mariestad....
