On - off - on - off and on again

Calling Help Desk on TORsdag

This week I once again had to post from the office. The reason: No connection. I simply could not understand, while the Wireless status on my laptop said: Excellent connection and 100% signal strenght I still had no internet connection. Suspicious. Could it be too heavy trafic on this wireless connection?

This morning I called my provider. (They are closed in the evenings).

- Have you checked the xyz-light?
- No, I have not
- Do that - check if there is light on the XYZ-bulb.

Had to raise up and climp to the ceiling. No lights.

- No lights there, I said, when down to my cellphone again.
- Turn off the modem. Then turn it on again

I once again climbed to the ceiling. And did what I was told.
Went down again.

- Yes, I have turned it off and on again.
- Chech if there is light on the XYZ-bulp

Up again. No light.

Down again.

- No lights
- It can take a while

Up once more. Good traing for my balance, I thought. Rosa and Felicia were sure papa had gone crazy. They went away.

Suddenly a blink. And another. Yesss. It's light on the XYZ bulb.

- It's light there now.
- Try to connect
- Ok, I'll do
First try. Nothing happend but "Could not find...."
Second. Lucky me...
- I'm on the net. Thank you! But tell me, might the modem fell out from time to time like this?
- Yes, it does happen, so keep and eye on the XYZ-lamp.
- OK, I'll do. Thanks again.
Papa reading Questions for Anna and Solvi. More than 160 Questions. I think this was a song question - or an animal sound.Relaxing Rosa after I again was on the net. She layed down at my Toolbox. Next time I'm in trouble, she sure will help me out of it.

lol - gotta laugh at the pics. I don't think we will have time to drive on highway until we are in California. We might do that one day, but there is lots of summer fog (always during this time of year), so we might steer clear of the cold weather....

Hope the on off situation clears up quickly!

We have warm weather finally.

Three years ago I had a problem and it took 10 days to discover that the provider did not have the correct modem number for my unit! I was truly angry! But since then, no problems!

If you have any more problems, just ask Rosa. She has control of the tool box, so she can fix that pesky XYZ light.

Cats sleep in the weirdest places. I am sure Garlic would love sleeping on the tool box too.

@ To all of you: Friday morning came, and no connections once again. The XYZ lamp was lightning - so I'll call the vendor again when I'm back from work. Grrrrr.

PS. I'll ask Rosa to fix the WLAN modem.

Oh Tor...it sounds like you are going crazy with the wireless. It can be so frustrating when you can't connect and you don't know what to do next. I just hope your vendor can figure it out for you...quickly. Good luck.

How very frustrating, TorAa....That kind of thing drives me nuts! (lol) I find things that one cannot count on are the most frustrating to me....like this little light situation...But, if that is all you have, I guess there is nothing you can do about it. I love your cats! Great picture of you and one of your little ones, too!

Tor, this reminds me of the time when I was the Support Manager in Mycron, the Norwegian Computer Company founded by our famous entrepreneur Lars Monrad Krohn. Every time they called for help, we asked if they could see the xyz-light LoL Glad you finely see the light now then!
When its dark again, I'm sure Rosa can help you out!
Form our vacation house in Sweden, me and Diane is wishing you a wonderful weekend. Welcome over in July:-)

Could you put your modem closer to the floor?

Although I suppose you'll keep real fit with all that climbing up and down ;-)

I had to LOL over this post, Tor, because when we came home from Amsterdam on Friday, we had similar connection problems. And of course, we talk to two or more techicians who are in India, and eventually we get it figured out. This time, after all the time on the phone, we found out that our area was having a problem and it wasn't our own connection at all. SIGH!

But like the travail pangs of bearing a child, once we're connected, we forget all about the pain!

Tor, I know your frustration. I have had trouble like this in the past. The internet is such a good thing but only when it works without difficulty!

I am glad you are back online. Congrats to you and Anna on your trip in December. It sounds wonderful!
