Cats on Tuesday May 22-07

PEDER PELS - PETER FUR
Every year when we move out to our Summerhome, we have a trusted visitor - from the Neighbourhood. We have asked the closest neighbours who owns this long furred cat. Nobody are sure, but they all point to the same house. There they also have a dog. It seems the cat walks for cold water and air. We call him Peder Pels or Peter Fur.
You can see, he has lost fur. But he loves to have a meal on our Platform

He is loosing his fur every spring. Looks so helpless and shabby. Like a back street cat. And he has allways plenty of Ticks. He is very shy. But when it comes to hunger and food, he can sit on our Platform for hours. To receive some leftovers from Felicia and Rosa. Sometimes he even sneaks into the Kitchen. When he his very hungry and understand he will soon be given some food, he allows us to take away a Tick or to. Peder is also vey slim, even though we really gives him lot's of food. We think he has worms.

Felicia is very sceptical but seldom got angry at him.
Here Felicia is on her way down from the Roof.

But Rosa has allways seemed to like this shabby cat. He is her Father.

Poor Peter Pelz (that would it be in german) is he really belonging to somebody ? Maybe you could catch him and bring him to a shelter, because I imagine his life in winter that must be awful !
Arthur has iron nerves, I think he would even stand a terrorist who puts a bomb besides him ! Especially when he sleeps. today is cleaning day here and he helps the cleaning woman very much and is not even afraid of the vacuum cleaner ! All other cats disappeared somewhere even Pookie abandonned me, lol !

That is so kind of you to care for Peter as you do. He is a gorgeous cat; I can imagine him all healthy and glowing like yours. He would be a stunner!

Oh, my, that poor cat. That's terrible to see.I so understand why you feed him.

The only cat I've had in my life, were when I was 6 years old. It was not taken care of it's owner so it sort of moved in. Maybe I should write a post about this sometime....

I think your cats also sees that he is not well feed and that's why they tolerate him. Animals are sometimes better than we humans are!

Poor, poor Peter! He looks so scrawny and bedraggled! He needs a brushing and some healthcare! Lots of love, too!

It's almost abuse the state he's in. What a shame, such a timid and friendly little man. He deserves much better.

Bless you for being a friend to him.

D :)

Poor Peter. :( That is very nice of you to feed him. It's too bad his humans don't look after him better - he deserves a wonderful home. He is lucky to have you looking out for him.

Poor Puss, glad you manage to feed him - shame he couldn't get a visit to the vet for a quick worming and deflea/tick just to make him more comfortable. I can't believe I'm saying this as I hate the vet myself. FAZ

Poor dear Peter! Ou know I think it is pretty common in long haired cats that they get quite matted and then, as spring and summer come, they lose these big clumpy mats of fur....Sweetie, my dear dear...his fur is incredibly soft and gets very thick in winter and than mats horrible----(He will not let me comb or brush him...) So each year we go through this terrible process....Right now, this is happening to him....
I wonder if Peter has a home? It is great that you feed him, TorAa...

He is really Rosa's father? Does she know?
Thank you for feeding him. He is MR Independance, but I know he appreciated your care.

How exciting that you move to a summer home. I've always found the notion quite romantic. That is a handsome fellow who visits, even with the hair falling out and the ticks. I imagine he'd be quite a marvelous cat with more care, poor thing.

Awwww. Such a sad and sweet story, Tor. I didn't know cats could lose their fur like dogs do, but it makes sense. I just have never seen it.
