ART: Vernissage - Varnishing Day - Opening Day - Zeynep Yüksel

Warning: All paintings are copyright Zeynep Yüksel. All Photos copyright Tor Aabö. In this post.
Prolog.

Flowers by Zeynep Yüksel
My regular readers may recall the last weekend was very special for Anna and Papa and Sölvi:
The first meeting with the Parents of Ingelin's dear boyfriend Kaya. The young ones met in Hong Kong. First time. To papa's knowledge;)) For the whole blogger world to know, here is how we, the parents met.
Part 1
All Parents do know, sooner or later, they have to at least say hallo to the kids prefered partner's parents.

Ingelin invited us to a Vernissage - the opening of an Art Exhibition. A separate - only one painter - Exhibition. The Artist: Her loved ones Mother: Zeynep Yüksel.
U Z - it was in a hurry

You might know we live in Oslo, Norway and the event took place in Essen, Germany. Only about 2 hours flight time away with Norwegian to Düsseldorf. (The Airport parking at OSL costs more than the Air Fair - crazy enough - I ponder when they realize price means somthing - and service).
Arriving the Gallery.
The Gallery - Galerie Aviva is situated in a very charming old suburb of Essen named Werden..

Here you see the artist's husband walking up the narrow street close to the Gallery.
(We had Dinner in the Building on the left after the Vernissage)

Sometimes Papa got some signs of a happy result. Salute. Papa do think these botles are for good friends only. Have I missed some points?

Galerie Aviva from outside. Will the people enter?

At least they stopped to study the paintings more seriously. Papa say no more.

And here an anxious husband just before he does enter the Gallery.
The Vernissage.

The first to enter was of course some Norwegians;)) - Anna - Sölvi and Ingelin

And what was the first thing for H to do when inside the Gallery, but welcome vistors?
He handled the circumstances with elegance.

Some women, well? In a Gallery;)) They might be among the Rich and Famous,)))
Papa does not care, because he loves the both of them.

And the first to select her favourite piece of Art, Anna of course. "On the way to the Carnival".

The next Photos are also from the Opening Event. Wordless. People all over.

After a while, the Gallery was fully crowded. Several paintings sold. Wine, applejuice, Water and snacks were served.

Ingelin with Camera. Else you can see Zeynep and Kaya and Anna and other fans

Among the visitors was Der General Konsul. Can you see who that can bee ? And: The General Konsul represent which country? Gift to come.
Clue: Miklagard

The Gallery closed at 8 pm. As you see, there were some fans of Zeyneps Art that refused to leave the Exhibition. Papa very well understands.

The Dinner

Sooner or later a Gallery have to admit the vernissage is over and close for the opening Day.
As you might understand from the missing clarity of the Photo, papa was very excited, when arriving to the Dinner.

More than 2 douzens of visitors did meet for a meal at a restaurant as short as 90 seconds walking distance from the Galerie Aviva. To celebrate Zeynep's exhibition. The 2 persons on the Right are the Galerie Owners. Really wonderful people.

Here we are again, around the Table

At home again.
As I've said many times before: Every great, memorable moments comes to an end.
It was time to return.

We had a blast of a family gathering, celebrating both the Vernissage and the two youngsters in love. A real reunion of friendship across borders and culture and formation of new family relationship. We danced around Zeynep. And we Danced for a great friendship and relationship.

---- more to come - and papa promise: Joy, Friendship, Happiness and Great Performances and historical facts and voyages. So stay tuned my dear blogger readers and friends.

PS. Since we know the Artist, it will be very wrong to comment on her Art. We can only say the following: 4 of Z Y works are now in Norway. And we, as Norwegians went around and listened to comments given. Most of the visitors did know we came from Norway, but not all of them did realize the fact we understand German. Very positive comments to Zeynep's works.

Epilog.
Let me summarize: The Gallery owners did a tremendous job. They responded quickly and professional to all inquries and was very respondant to all the questions that arrived during the opening, besides serving the visitors properly. Hurray.

Wordless Wednesday - Vernissage

For the first time this Aquarell is published on Internet - It's a secret Art.

It's done in 1994.
By no other but Ingelin.
(Sorry the Photo do not represent the quality as deserved)
What you see is the Artist's impression of a Mapuche Woman
I think you should take some minutes to read what's written about
the Mapuches. And to respect.
Why is this very special painting revealed to the World right now?
Scroll down to my post from the other day - and you will understand

Papa is invited to a Vernisssage

Peace of cake - just go to the vernisage.
Easy like that? Yeah?
Papa has been to several. Mostly in Norway.

This one will be different. Very different
. Until otherwise documented. hmm

Ingelin - papa's daughter - and Anna - in Hong Kong.
What has that fact to do with the rest of the story?

When back in Norway from SE Asia:
What did she do but invited us to a vernissage (opening of an Art Excibition)?
- You are hereby invited to a vernisage.
- Yes, said papa, where and when? (Interested in Art)
- It's in Essen (Germany) and the opening is on Sunday March 22.

- hmmrre, you said Essen, in Germany?

- Yes, papa, it's in Essen

- Why there, in Essen?

- Because it is the "Anne" (Mother) of Kaya
Here you see Ingelin and Kaya in Hong Kong last Summer (2008)

(I suspect the 2 of them (Ingelin and Kaya) are more than ordinary friends) that will have a vernissage to say some more.
Ingelin said as well: Kaya's parents would love to see you there, in their home and at the opening..

Papa - well - he had to respond positive.
And bought some Flight Tickets.

Papa's life.
Allways have to shop the unexpected.

And meet people. haha - papa loves that as well

Have a great week everybody.

PS. Still working 12-14 hours a day, so it's limited have many of my dear blogger friends I can visit and comment right now. But I'll be back.

More to come .... also before Essen

Art and Nature in our Summer District

As you may know, our Summer Home is situated on a Peninsula, with the Oslofjord to the East and the somewhat shorter Drammensfjord to the West. Our Summer House is at the Oslofjord side.

This Friday we (Anna, Solvi and me) did visit some of the many Galleries and other Major sites on the southern part of Hurum - as the peninsula is called. Here it is several Farms that sells Organic Food, from their own Farms, You can Play Golf, hike the Coastal Trial (Beautiful), Ride Horses, go Fishing in Lakes, Rivers and in the Sea, swimming, go canoeing on deserted Lakes, visit Islands, just relaxing - whatever - even have a Gourmet Dinner and discover settlements from the Stone Age.

First we went to Holmsbu. A tiny and charming village at the west coast. Here we are. Photo taken by Solvi.

Here there is many Galleries, Restaurants, Gift Shops and a Hotel in which we will celebrate Anna's 60 years anniversary later this year. The Hotel: Holmsbu Bad and Sjöhotel to the Right.

A very special exhibition took place at the hotel when we arrived. Henki Kolstad's paintings, a very famous and beloved actor (More than 50 movies, TV-shows, Theatre Plays all Genres (Dramas, Comedies, Musicals). It was Paintings he had done in Holmsbu during decades which where on display here. All owned by the Family. They were collected by his children as a surprise to him and his wife to their 70th year of Marriage Celeb earlier this Summer. (He died a week ago 92 years old).
The Harbour and the houses is very charming. View from the Hotel.

Only 1 km ( 5/7 of a Mile) further South is a tiny place named Stöa. Art Gallery and Arts and Crafts shop during the Summer. Here we do buy our yearly Teddy Bear (That's another story).

On the other side of the road, deep in the Woods, there is a Art Gallery (Holmsbu Billedgalleri) dedicated a famous Norwegian Painter (Henrik Sörensen). The building is constructed with natural red granite, which the area is known for. And two of the artists paintings are just from where the Gallery is buildt. It took 10 years - with bad economy and never giving up enthusiasts. You can hardly see the building until you are suddenly outside.

From the Inside. Anna and Solvi.
It has a huge Window. You can see the Sunlight.
Here you can see directly into the Nature. At least 2 of his works have been painted right here.

Then we went to the South East of the Peninsula - Filtvet, where there is a Light House and a Gourmet Restaurant. We had Ice Cream: Vanilla, Mango and Almond brittle. Served in old fashiones, crispy cornets.

And even Palms.
Have a great Weekend.

Photo Hunters - Curvy

I, in fact ,have lots of curvy photos. Yeah, I do have. Too sexy, according to the definition of curvy and what to be presented here. *giggles?* But this old, scanned capture from a slide taken in the early 1980'ies (SW France) is very special. The scan is not the quality as on the original. But look at it from a distance - then you will see the artists meaning of "curvy" - A real woman from that time - hard working and giving. A real woman - that time to be.

Mother Earth.

More photos here.

Papa goes shopping - in the Blue

The Day after Mid Summer Evening Anna and Sylvi just wanted to sit down and enjoy the Sunshine.
Papa had to go shopping. Not a regular shopping. But the most important shopping of the year.

Approaching the Shop.

No neon. No big words.

Beautiful surroundings.

Guess what’s inside.

After shopping – a coastal walk.

Still water after the rainfall. Forms a pictogram on the rock.

Shopping on the Farm was step two. But, what’s this? A woodbird...

Here is what I had to buy – the most important object of the Year.

New Teddy with all brothers and sisters.

Here is what papa bought at the Farm. Best bread in the World.
