PhotoHunt June 13 - 2009 - Lock

Papa is back on Photo Hunter - Hurray;-))
With more than one type of Lock.

Here you see a Cat in a travelling cage.
The Lock is made from plastic - just easy to turn and Lock.
The Cat? It's Stompa. My regular readers do know him. Photo from last year.

Then, we are leaving Norway and going East. To Sweden and the Gothic Canal.
(Göta kanal)

You are invited to the most western of all the Locks in this Canal.
At Sjötorp. At the eastern end of Lake Vänern, the greatest lake in the Nordics.
My friend Renny has often written from the area.

Enjoy the life and sceneries around Canal Locks. It's very special. Here it's how it works.

To elevate, the Lock has to be empty

Approaching the top

(I did travel on the Canals in Europe back in 1965 - Germany - Holland - Belgium - France - Switzerland - and experienced several hundreds Locks)

Bright - PhotoHunters June 28 - 2008

My dear readers do know I have not participated as normal lately here at PH. Even been a lousy commenter. Let me first of all say thanks for all kind words and warm thoughts in the past weeks.
Then, to this weeks theme: Bright.

I must admit, among my thousands of photos and scannings, I needed a little inspiration to figure out what to present. Hence, I did a Google Search. It's allways a natural story behind - yeah?
I found an inspiration more powerful, that I could ever expect. The Brights. You should visit this site if you will have a clue what Respect and Peace and a Naturalistic view can do for this Planet.

Then I found a Picture taken by my Father in the late 50'ies. It was a Bright Idea to capture me when diving into the Nature - The Oslo Fjord.

PhotoHunt - April 26 - 2008

Theme: Unique/funny Signs

Hi friends, it's lots of funny signs around this Globe. Most of them meant well, some for the fun and confusion, but there are also some serious.

This sign is to warn you that Santa Claus can be in the street around the next corner. Do not hit him with your car. That would cause serious consequences. X-Mas for instance without Santa? What would that be? Papa or Uncle or Neighbour as a substitute. No way. We say in Norway.

More to find here
and here too
You can see the sign during Summertime on the first photo in my Cybercruise post from Dröbak (Norway) is here

The most fantastic entry: Peace

Cats on Tuesday - Feb 12-13 in the Year of 2008

This is a bit out of line. Posted from my Office Computer, without my normal photo capabilities. So excuse the Photo Quality. And the short time I had to post it. In between. Work - Job, you know. (here we sometimes work 24/7 when needed - Customer needs first)

Here you will see Rosa and Felicia - Sisters - Born same Day. Rosa first. Felicia several hours later. 3 in between.

Hi Sister, mieew, how are you?

But we suspect they have different Fathers. We do remember their Mothers behaviour. And I'll comment no more on that Subject. Cats are Cats. Unless, if it might be a popular linguistic intepretation - Cats - PussyCat.

I'm not THAT deep into how slang/popular words do became "common" - not in English. But - I do have some hypotesis. I do not know if they are still valid.

Here you see Rosa in the left Kitchen Window

More about Cats here, If you really want to know about humans first domestic animals (sic)

HEAVY - PhotoHunter - Feb 9 - 2008

Circumstances like what you see above have been a heavy reality for many Mountain Cabin Owners in Norway this Winter. It's only one solution: Shuffel off the Snow. Before the Spring and Rain. Then we can really talk about Heavy: Wet Snow - besides: It's very heavy to get rid off it. If not, then you need an insurance - with a Heavy Bill. Or mistreat your Roof.

As you can see here, the Snow was not very easy to get rid of, it was in fact heavy, but, we saved the roofs (by not digging too deep)- Haha - believe it or not - it's part of our SUMMER home you now see.

It's hard to believe. It's the same place. (Our Cats will NOT be there during the Winter - nothing to Catch). That's what's so exciting with four distinct Seasons. It's really Heavy to understand, these 3 pictures are from the same spot (allmost). Here you see Felicia.

Take the Photo Hunt Challenge. It's exiting and demanding. Important is NOT the quality of Photographing, but the intepretation of the Weeks Theme. This weeks challenge is Heavy.
Lot's of intepretations. It's very interesting and learning to see how people around the globe inteprete. It's an important lesson. Do not laugh of others, maybe they will find your's "far off", so to speak. It's about learning and respect. And World Peace.

PS. There is no Rats around here this time of year - even though the Chinese "Year/moon of the
Rats began yesterday. Read from "So Shiok"

NARROW

We happend to suddenly be on this narrow road. Here it is, well, a sort of driveable. But later on, I did not dare to stop and take pictures (Enlarge and try to imagine what would come) Anna closed her eyes. It was steep on both sides. Rocks and water on the road, a huge mud-lake down under - point of no return. With a tiny, 2 wheel drive Car. No Cell Phone contact. Mad Vikings. But beautiful Nature I'm told. Had my eyes on the Path. Yes Path or Trial. Passing the Sand Dunes 1 hrs later was even more risky.

PHOTO HUNTERS Fake

OK , I do admit it , this was not my first thought when the theme were FAKE: 'cause this is real and fake but fake with nature. Several times - fake. It's not water made to wine. It's real fake;)

Glass is fake from sand - right?
All you see from nature in the glass is true but also fake.
The sky around the glass, well a little bit fake as well..

More fake here at Photo Hunters

OK- OK -I have more "fake-nature"

Shiny

I advice you to enlarge - to see the little boy kicking the water and better view of the girls mirroring.
What a challenge: Shiny. Think about it. I'm sure you would have at least 15 different choices of what it means for you. Therefore you have to visit all other "shiny" Photo Hunters this week. This picture is shiny for many reasons. You need not to mention more than two of them. If you can't - you can say: Well - it's a typical Kodak or you can say I like the dogs or I like .... the shiny reflexions, the shiny ... come on.. say it
PS. See that woman in red? She refused to move away! Can you believe it. I had to deal with her the whole evening. Even the morning after. She must be a real Wannabe;D - Scary.LOL:

After all, I care for you. You Too;)
