aa Local products these Days are considered to be not only the best in taste, but as well sustainable.
 
Well, we do combine. Caviar from Local Norwegian Fish, Mayonnaise and Avocado, which is not locally
.
But The Duck Breast with local Green Peas. The orange sauce etc are not that strange. Europe is Europe. Right?

Well, we had a very pleasant Saturday Dinner.

A visit to Umlauf Sculpture Garden, Austin, Texas

My regular readers may have noticed I’m interested in Art.
Both contemporay and classical – Comedy, paintings and sculptures. In different settings.
So, here you are invited to an afternoon i Austin, Texas.

All Photos are taken by me. Click on each Photos to see the details. And I’ve placed them inbetween my conversation with the Officicials of the Umlauf Sculpture Garden.
 
This time I will invite you to the Umlauf Sculpture Garden in Austin, Texas. Yeah, it’s a natural Garden, or Park if you will. 
About Charles Umlauf here. (We have visited South Haven in Michigan, where he was born).
 
Not very big, you can walk the garden for 15 minutes, our spend a day or two, if you really love what you see.
 
When we arrived with our friends, we were introduced as Norwegians, which in fact is true, to the management.
 
- That’s interesting, do you know the Vigeland Sculpture Park in Oslo?
 
- Yeah, we have lived only some minutes walking distance from the park for years.
 
- Really?
 
- Yeah, we did, and the Park was our recreational area. What can be better than nature and Art at the same time?
 
- You should know, when we planned this open air sculpture park, we went 2 places to learn how to plan and build it: The Vigeland Park in Oslo and as well  The Rodin Museum and Park.
We needed to learn from others. As you will see,  the Garden is not very large, but we hope you will like how we have have arranged the different sculptures in the nature.
 
- But before you enter the Garden, just enjoy our exhibition from the art of Charles Umlaufs children. (That was uttermost interesting)
 
- yeah, we will (and we enjoyed with great interest – no Photos allowed).
 
We went the tour, took photos  (here: The Skater) and more photos, and went back in to the reception:
 
- Thanks for an exeptional experience.
Even 7 hours time difference could not take away my passion for walking in nature surounded by art. (7 hours in 2 Days - try it)
 
Then I start talking about a new, great sculpture park idea in Oslo:
Christian Ringnes’ Women Sculpture Park in the Forest Hill overlooking Oslo, from the area where Edvard Munch painted the background for Skrik – The Scream.
Must be a World sensation. Right?

Well, we talked and talked – with the people in charge of this wonderful Sculpture Garden. Wonderful place to relaxe. Even the Wild Pigs listened.

Well, we were late for dinner. It was a “high fly” experience.
In some years, you are wellcome to Oslo, to have the best art experience on this tiny planet. Just take the Gondol from Oslo Opera House and walk around in the Sculpture Forest – also with signs before the Vikings.

X-Mas Dinner 2010

 
Hello to you all from Metin Leander. I’m here with my Family in Norway. We will have X-Mas Dinner together for the second year in a  row. Last year I was only 2 months, so I do not remember…

I’ve had a Cold for more than 4 weeks. Now I’m very Hungry.

I think I will remember this sweet little Kitten. A gift for me?
 
Here you see the X-Mas table. I did taste all the different food. Very good.  And nice for a hungry boy like me;-)
 
Even my Grand Grand Mother was hungry. She is more than 90 years older then me. But we are both born in October, as most of my family. Uncle Niklas was very sweet to me, as allways.
 
Here you see Anna and my playful cousin, Sebastian. I think they both likes me very much. I like them.
 
Here is my Grand Grand Mother. She is 91 years old. She likes me and I like her. She needs a Wheel Walker. I could also from time to time need one.

She has some open soars, so she got some large, new footwears. Is she a Polar Bear mum?  
 
Here is mum and dad. They are very proud of me, and I with them.
  
I love the Rasberries from Grandpa and Anna’s Summer Garden

Then came this person in Red and White. I learbed his name is “Julenissen”. A pity cousin Sebastian was in the rest room ‘cause he was so very nice and brought gifts to everyone. I like him.  It’s said he is orginally from Turkey. You know I have family there too…. 

All of a sudden “Julenissen” had to go, just before Sebastian returned from the rest room. Well, he left an ocean of gifts so the two of us forgot him – he might come back next year? 
Cousin Sebastian was very pleased with his new Helicopter. It did crash a lot, but it still can fly… He saved my head as well.

I also liked the green tree with all the different, colourful decorations and lights.  I think they called it  “Juletre”. Strange it is, I’ve never seen such trees in the forests?
Every good and unforgetable moments comes to an end. I played with cousin Sebastian for a while, before we left – and Grandpa’s bed.

By the way, it was a very beautiful Day in Oslo. But a bit to cold for me to play outside. See you next X-Mas?

PS. Grandpa took all the Photos. I just helped him pick them out and told him what to write. We are a good team. And I agree with grandpa: Do not use flash if you can avoid it.

Wordless - Football - Soccer

Here you can see my two first Sons and their Soccer / Football Team(BBK) back in 1980. Ruben (who died on May 18th this year), to the left in the second row, was top scorer in Oslo that season. By far.
Niklas, a year younger than Ruben, played as back or defenser. He is #1 from left in the first row.

As you all know - she is "allways" hungry. You see it here; allways active. That's why Anna and me are giving her some food on this special occasion. Cyber Food. From morning to goodnight. Even later. *giggles* . Enjoy the meals - with some surprises.
Warning: Do not read further unless you visit her site to celebrate an unique person.

Oooops - did you send her a B D greeting? You've been watched and reported if not - LOL
Let's start with Coffee in the morning (at Faaroe?)

Our hungry Captain need something to eat for breakfast: Kransekake (what that is, you'll find at RennyBA)

You know all her travelling activies around Stockholm (and Birka):
So it's time for our hungry Captain to have some Japanese Brunch: (Nothing to do with the Vikings - butt this is a Cyber Cruise - yeah)
Another wonderful place we have visited, and then it's time for Lunch. In Norway? No kidding;D I'm starving, our Captain complains. OK. Here we go: (a seat for you too at The Captains Table this luncheon- what an honour)
After the lunch - please stop, we've been to Waterloo
I'm starving Mrs Lifecruiser timidly said- need some small snacks - OK - it's a kind of messed up, like Waterloo (Napoleon - said something like that)

Have had enough? Oh no, hang on on this food-cruise, our Captain says. Butt in Barcelona, hunger again;D

Why stop in Barcelona? We are cruising. New destination and more FOOD. A real dinner for hungry Captains. Must be in Berlin.

It's a long way from Berlin to Ottawa. Can't stop our dinner 'cause of that fact. Some cheese will do. In Canada they can make delicious cheese. Have a taste.
Hallo, what about some dessert here. But where? You said, what? Dominican Republic?

Frutas is delicious, but I need some more "fat" after this trip to Alaska. More calories, so to speak.

Butt, our Captain needs some coffee and you know... In SW France of course
Now then, fed up of travelling? That's your choice. You will never know what you then will miss. Goodbye - sleep unwell. LOL.
After a short brake - relaxing - and a wonderful meal. Let's wake up and start travel again. OK?

PS - you are free to do what you need to do - after all the food. *giggles*. We will still be with you. Here. Understand?

More travel and food for our Captain to come. You can just watch. And eat later. Hahaha - if you can wait that long---

After dinner, we will now go to a movie theatre - The Cannes Festival - what then to feed our starving Captain but a real Onion Soup afterwards?

Butt, here is the real thing. Mr Lifecruisers speciality. Nightfood for Finesmeckers. If you want to know what it is, ask our Captain. OK? And do not forget to CELEBRATE. (yummy is not even the forname)
