Friends since ages
I have had the honour of meeting these wonderful women, since before they were teenagers.
Here they are, a flavour of Ingelins friends, which we have known the past xx years,
You know, how it is to reveal a woman's age.
So this will still remain a secret. OK.
If you want to see some pro-photos, taken by Elisabeth - the lady to the left.
May I see U at OSLbg?
Wow - that would be a blast and once in a lifetime experience

Metin Leander 3 Months to Day
Baby Boy Metin Leander is allready 1/4 of a Year Old. He has grown.
Sunday Ingelin and Metin Leander came for a short visit. Mainly for picking up goods that we have store when she worked in Florida and in Hong Kong. Her car was filled up. Anna had knitted a new Sweater (Alpacka Wool)
Next Sunday she will move to Germany with her Baby boy - to Düsseldorf and Kaya; her man.
It means we will not follow Metin Leanders development so closely in the Future.
Even Felicia understood it will be a while until she would see them both next time.
On Saturday, Feb 27, they will return for the Official Naming ceremony, which will take place in Oslo City Hall. Report will come.

Stompa is back Home and Baby Vagabond's name revealed
Dear readers,
family and friends,
Last Saturday we had visitors.
Ingelin, Kaya, Baby Vagabond and Sölvi.
And Stompa was still in our Winter Home.
You are wellcomed to be a virtual visitor.

They came to bring Stompa, the Manx Cat, back home. Here in his favourite Chair.
10 years old he is.
He has stayed with us since early July. Both in our Summer House and in our Winterhome.
He felt more and more very well at Home with us and Felicia and Rosa.

Stompa was a very frequent vistor in our bed. And in the early mornings, mieoow, do you know what time it is? Hungry - U know.
He even told us when he wanted us to go to bed.

As usual, when we have visitors, we have to sit around the Family Heritage Table to join good food and beverages.

Baby Vagabond with typical Norwegian Tuque. Have you ever seen a cuter santa to be...
or? Santa is, as you might know from Turkey. Just read here.

Here is Baby Vagabond and Anna

Baby with boring Grandpa - Metin Leander preferred to sleep.
Yes, that's his name.
It means:
Metin is Turkish and means STRONG.
Leander is Greek and means: LION OF A MAN
What do you mean, when understanding the meaning of baby vagabonds name. Still strange and unusual, or did it help when explained the meaning_
Have a great week end to come.
I'm in Mariestad, Sweden. In RennyBA and DianeCA's leisure home.

From Germany to Norway to see Baby Vagabond
The Ottoman - Viking connection

Baby Vagabond's parents met in Hong Kong. In fact they did work there. Not in the same company.
But they met there. And fell in love.
She is born in Norway. He is born in Germany.
Baby Vagabond was born in Norway on Sunday, October 25 - 2009.
Papa Vagabond's parents are of Turkish origin (Istanbul). Mama Vagabond's parents are Norwegians (Oslo) plus 12,5% of Swedish origin. Since the last 125 years. In the past 1.000 years, well, who knows but the Mothers... (But this time we know for sure)
The Vikings called Istanbul (Konstantinopel, Bysants) for Miklagard. (In old Nordic language Mikla means Big - i.e. Big City)
It's even a famous resort/restaurant with the name of Mikla in Istanbul. Also due to a Ottoman- Viking connection.

18 months later, we can all enjoy the result of their love. My mother (90), whispered to me:
If I was Ingelins age, I would have catched Kaya).

Baby Vagabond was born in the evening of Sunday, Oct 25 - 2009. Here he is 6 Days old.
Both the parents and the rest of the Family in Germany and Norway was very anxious. The birth took so long, and we kept in touch both by SMS and Internet. Germany - Norway and vica versa.
On Saturday, October 31, all grandparents and the proud parents met and was thrilled by the new, common Famliy member.

Grandpa Hasan was very proud. It is his first grand child.

And Grandma Zeynep was as well very proud. See, they communicate?

What about papa? He has reasons to be proud. Really. Within one week he became papa for the first time, and also got his dream-job. We know he is very lucky, and so is Ingelin.

Considering it was the first visit to Oslo and Norway for both Hasan and Zeynep, we had also to do something else but sharing baby vagabond in our arms. Here we are at a Shopping Mall in Oslo (Paleet at Karl Johan), with a cup of Coffee, Tea and Hot Chockolade.
Zeynep is a renowned Artist, as you can see here. So is Hasan, but in a different disciplin. Here they are as Opera-singers.

Her is the proud papa and grandpa walking on the roof of the new Oslo Opera House.
As they are both in the construction and land devellopment business, well, I thought they should pay it a visit, and also for them to have an insight in the exiting plans for the nearby Harbour environmements. New Museums, Library and appartements. A whole new Town.

We did of course celebrate baby vagabond when he was 1 week old. Best baby in the world and the best view of Oslo in the World. And excellent food at Ekeberg. I had to explain the meaning of the place. Hasan speaks German and Turkish. The name Ekeberg is the combination of Ek and Berg. Ek or Eik (Oak) as we now call it in Norwegain - well see here in Turskish. Berg is also Berg in German (Hill) - with other words Oak Hill.

Only some paths away, is the background landscape for Edvard Munch's famous painting:
The Scream - Der Schrei
Yes, of course we did visit the Munch Museum in Oslo.
More paintings to be revealed from the Museum when waiting for the 2010 most fascinating blogger event:

Well, this is it. Some Photos from our Family Gathering here in Oslo this weekend.
More to come from here and there....

First Meeting with Baby Vagabond - Wednesday, Oct 28 - 2009
Fore those of my Readers that follows ABC-F: It is here
Due to the H1N1 Flue, we were not permitted to visit Ingelin and Kaya at the Hospital.
Hence we had to wait until Baby Vagabond was 3 Days old and out of the Hospital. Guess we were eager to see the baby and the proud parents.
Precautions were of course taken. Washed our hands and cleaned with special cleaning soap before approaching.
You are invited to see some of the photos taken this Wednesday evening.

Our first glimpse. Ready for travelling again, baby vagabond? Three Days young.
Never to early these Days.

You must come up and say hello. To the World - family and friends

Baby Vagabond: ahhhhaa - I had a good meal and a nice nap.

Grandpa with Grandson - first time meeting. They looks smart both of them;)
What do they have in Mind?
And: See how big hands Grandpa have?

Look at this modern carrige. Can turn on a penny. So practical and weights like a feather.
And can be packed into a suitcase. Ready for Baby Vagabond to travel.
Believe it or not: Made by Stokke, a Norwegian company that have created the smartest solutions for baby and children care.
More to come.... (Family gathering)

My Mother 90 - My Daughter 32 - A Family celebration
Marie Louise - 90 - October 12
I have the honour to celebrate my Mothers 90 BD. And share it with my dear blogger-friends.

Not all people around this Globe will have that opportunity.
Photo taken Saturday Oct 10 - 2009.
All her Uncles on her mother side emigrated in the late 1890ies from Norway to "Promised Land"; it was North Dakota. As far as I know, all her Family has left that state.
------------------
Yesterday, on Saturday Oct 10, we celebrated her. In fact is was a double celebration.
My daughter Ingelin had her BD the day before.
We were only the closest family. Had a dinner, given by my son Niklas in his home.

Here Ingelin is about to decorate the table. As you might observe - there is one more in her body that we have not yet seen;-))

Sebastian really wanted the Tabel too look First Class before his grand grand mother arrived.
He had to check it out for himself. Baloons - hehe- guess who made them this seize?

We had real Champagne - of course. From left: Kaya, my Mother, Ingelin and Anna.

Just after the Wellcome refreshment, we went outside to see Niklas 40 BD Gift. A new Bike.
Wow - that's something we did not have in my younger periode of life....
Let me tell you, my Mother and I talked and talked about old times.
We forget for a while the rest of the family sitting around the table
... just us
When I was about to be born, in April 1945, at the Clinic, just before I could see the world:
The Air-raid warning alarm was on the air. (at the end of World War 2)
That was really tough, my mother said.
But, she was the only that stayed calm.
And here I am, blogging with you. Hurray.
Now, you can understand more about who I am, born with an Air-raid warning Alarm ,-))

Sebastian asked his grand grand Mother :
- Are you comfortable? Just tell me, if you need something.
The Table was decorated by Ingelin. She does how do do it.Allmost unseen, but without, the Table would have looked naked.

Sebastian - grand grand child #3 from right. The only one but my Mother with a paper Crown.
(We all ended up with paper crowns. Before we left at around 11 pm.)

Ingelin, have you eaten too much? Kaya is anxious... Papa as well ;-))

And of course Kaya had to give a toast - my brother to the right understood as well, even Turkish.

The Dining Table at the end. LOL
My mother promised to see Ingelins Baby, and she are really looking forward to meet Kaya's parents.
Time for Gifts

What is this?
Seb wonders, my brother seems to think about something else, while my Mother have listened to a good joke. You see?

revealed:
Here is Kaya - giving my Mother 90 roses
My mother told me a secret:
If I had been the age of Ingelin, I would have done my best to capture this beautiful and wonderful young man. He has all the Qualities a woman looks for.
That was what my Mother said said to me.

Here, the Birthday Cake (one of them)

Then we neede a short break and went out on the Balconny. Here you see the South View.
However, we did also celebrate Ingelin's BD.
Firstgift: A book with Cat Cartoons. No words. Then Kaya can write the text in German and Turkish and Ingelin in Norwegian and what so ever other languages;-))

Here, another present -
(Private collection - can only be bought one place within 90 Days a Year)
Private: Z and H, do you hear? My Mother are eager to see you soon.
More to come....
