We have not seen nor heard from him since last Thursday Afternoon. We have all been looking and called for him. He have never been outside here before.

We know he recalls the sound of our Car. We know he knows our voices.
We have announced we miss him at our local communiy web-site, on Facebook and on Dyrenett.no (Animalnet).
So far in vain.
Stompa, where are you? We all miss you so much. Family Friend for 10 Years.
Cats on Tuesdays here.
I think I just post and call for him again, so please excuse me for not commenting as I should.

Stompa is missing

Yesterday afternoon our two Cats and Stompa was on the Veranda.
The Veranda is about 3 meters ( 9 feet) above the ground.
When we called for the Cats, Rosa and Felicia ran in.
But Stompa did not come. He had vanished from the Veranda. No sign nor sound of him.
We of course went out searching for him, as he has never been outside our Winterhome. But in vain.
We went out early this morning (We had frost last Night) as well and callled for him. In vain.
I stayed at home as long as I could, before entering the office. Called for him around 11 am. In vain.

Then we came home in the early afternoon and inspected large parts of our Neigbourhood. There is Forests and Gardens - and only one Road. The rest is for Pedstrians only. We search and called for him. In vain

We have been Catsitters for Stompa since April 14, since Sölvi was supposed to visit Ingelin in Düsseldorf - but due to the Volcanic Ashes, her flight was canselled. But she hoped to go another Day, so Stompa stayed with us and his two Cousins. Stompa is 10 years old and castrated. He has before also been away for some Days, so we hope the very best.

Stompa is back Home and Baby Vagabond's name revealed

Dear readers,
family and friends,

Last Saturday we had visitors.
Ingelin, Kaya, Baby Vagabond and Sölvi.

And Stompa was still in our Winter Home.
You are wellcomed to be a virtual visitor.

They came to bring Stompa, the Manx Cat, back home. Here in his favourite Chair.
10 years old he is.
He has stayed with us since early July. Both in our Summer House and in our Winterhome.
He felt more and more very well at Home with us and Felicia and Rosa.

Stompa was a very frequent vistor in our bed. And in the early mornings, mieoow, do you know what time it is? Hungry - U know.
He even told us when he wanted us to go to bed.

As usual, when we have visitors, we have to sit around the Family Heritage Table to join good food and beverages.

Baby Vagabond with typical Norwegian Tuque. Have you ever seen a cuter santa to be...

or? Santa is, as you might know from Turkey. Just read here.

Here is Baby Vagabond and Anna

Baby with boring Grandpa - Metin Leander preferred to sleep.
Yes, that's his name.
It means:
Metin is Turkish and means STRONG.
Leander is Greek and means: LION OF A MAN

What do you mean, when understanding the meaning of baby vagabonds name. Still strange and unusual, or did it help when explained the meaning_

Have a great week end to come.
I'm in Mariestad, Sweden. In RennyBA and DianeCA's leisure home.

Cats on Tuesday - Nov. 17 - 2009

As my regular readers may remember, the last of Felicia's Kitten got a new home the first weekend of November. We have received several reports about Marta, having a great time, so has her new two-legged parents.

Here is Marta and her Mother, Felicia. Look at their Faces.

Marta was not the last to find food. Here with Stompa, Rosa and Felicia.

Stompa and Rosa playing.

Rosa in her favourite chair.

Felicia is pregnant again. We can't believe it. Two days out was all she needed.

Felicia is allways clean.

Stompa catches his own Food

Stompa has been eating less than normal lately. We wondered whether he was sick or not. But, no, he was not at all slimmer than useal. He sure have eaten somewhere else, we then thought.

Then one late evening Anna caught him. He ran on to the Platform. Something in his mouth.

There, on the Platform, with his Catch. A mouse.

Stompa does not like beeing watched when having a meal, so he looked slightly away.

OK, Stompa, we have the proof, even if you try too look innocent.
(Next morning nothing was left of his catch)

It's hard to be a Cat. Have to hunt for their own meals. They can't go shopping like most of us.

The Cats did have a break during a rainy Sunday

Our Cats were fed up with the Sunday Weather. They stayed indoor and refused to listen to the Raindrops on the Roof. Heavy.

But in the afternoon, when the Rain stopped for a while, they went out on the Platform. Rosa shows her back while Stompa looks at me and Felicia looks at Stompa.

Then back again. Gosh, the weather is changing rapidly this "Summer". Stompa and Felicia.
They are back indoor. We expect more Rain Monday until early afternoon. Then the Summer will return. Hurray. (And we will visit a friend from my childhood). Secret. hsssss.

Stompa is back in the Summerhouse

To Day Stompa began his Summer Vacation.

He was picked up in Oslo in the very early afternoon.
Stitting in his Cage on Solvi, he startet to complain about my driving.
He even had to pi to protest. That did not work. I opened my Sunroof.
Then he did his final protest. What a smell. The Sunroof had to be wide open.

So he realized, papa has his remedies and he stayed calm for the rest of the drive.

At the Summerhouse, after some food, he jumped to the roof, to have an overview.

And Felicia wanted to check out if he was comfortable with our new Parabol.

PS. We have had an extrordinary weather. From Saturdays 32 C it dropped to 11 C in 10 hours on Sunday Morning. Heavy Rain and Thunder. Fascinating, but not the temperature drop. Had to heat up with the radiators.

New bed friend - facts and more

Stompa has been with us for a week now. The plan was to go to our summerhouse and stay there during the Easter Vacation. But we have dropped it. It's too cold during Nights. And our windows in the main house are not isolated, the sleeping room is filled up with plants we hope have survived the Winter and it's too cold and early in the Spring to bring them outside. So thinks the Cats. They will stay inside. We went out to the Summerhouse in todays Sunshine. Cutting down wild roses and rasberry plants from last year. Some Crocuses in Flower. That's very early to be this North. And we did see signs from Mice - looks like we will save Cat Food;))

Stompa is now becoming more and more housewarm. He even jump up in our bed during the Nights and mornings.

Here he has discoverd som old Toes. What do they smell?
18 months ago, he hide for a week, when we were Cat sitters. What a change.

Normally it's Felicia that jumps up in our bed. (She purrs us to sleep).

Rosa and Felicia loves to play. Click to enlarge. It's a must.
(If you wonder what Dr. Loosen does here - it's as simple as this: To collect Loose hair of course. The one that have lost less, is declared the Winner and receives an extra portion of premium food. LOL)

Here they play "Hold the Fort". That's what we used to play as kids, during Wintertime. Snow Forts we used to build.

DID YOU KNOW?

1) The African Golden Cat is a medium sized cat and can grow to 90cm (35in) in body length and weigh up to 18kg (40lb). Apart from duika and other small antelope it is thought that the main part of the golden cats diet is made up of rodents, tree hyraxes and birds.

2) The Andean Mountain Cat is to be found in the high regions of Bolivia, Peru and Chile. The mountain cat is slightly larger than a big domestic cat, growing up to 60cm (24in) in length with a tail of some 70% of its body length.

3) Most abundant in Southern Africa, the Caracal is often referred to as the African Lynx or Desert Lynx, but is not related to the Lynx. It grows up to 1m (3ft) in length and the male weighs up to 18 kg. It can survive for long periods without water, obtaining its requirement from the metabolic moisture of its prey such as small buck, sand rats and rock hyrax.

That's it for this Week Cats and other Species on Tellus.
(PS. I'll be at Renny's and Diane's place in Mariestad for a couple of Days while Anna keeps an eye on Rosa, Felicia and Stompa). And I've booked my Tickets from Oslo to Chicago - outborn on July 31 - hope to visit Mackinac Island with Mats (son) and Lori (DIL) - see their new home and two Cats and Lori's young Horse- it's for 10 days only. (Must go to Hong Kong in October - Ingelin (daughter)).

Cats on Tuesday - September 4 - 2007 - Part 1 and 2 - All in one

Stompa has left for the Summer

Even the Summer that not was, has come to an end. For Stompa as well. He arrived to the Summerhouse on July 6 and left September 2. That’s a long Vacation with his cousins Rosa and Felicia. And Peder Fur – our food guest – or dish washer as Anna calls him.

Stompa loves to be outside. Simply adores it. He even prefer to have his food served outside. A picnic cat. But sometimes he sneaked inside – to the kitchen. Whenever he heard a sound, he ran out – in panic. In and out. What a ballade. Only one half night he stayed inside.

Stompa sitting where we used grew to herbs. He smells very well. Females around.

The last weeks he started to meet us when we arrived from work. Walking down the pathway, miuew, miew – and banged our legs with his head. Then ran up the pathway to the platform. He was ready for dinner.
Rosa waiting among the Wild Strawberries - coming for the second time this year. She knew there would be a change.

Other afternoons he stayed on the roof. Waiting for his food parents to arrive. It’s safe on the roof. No eagles around here. Only his cousins together with him on the roof.
Peder Fur has never been on the roof. But he is not a Manx-Cat. The cousins most of the time left him in Peace - only a couple of times they "kindly" asked him to stay away.
Last Sunday Stompa had to go home. As you know, cats are not like dogs, in the way we can not just whistle and here they comes. And Sunday is P-pill day for Rosa and Felicia. Which means they stay away until hunger forces them to show up in the late evening. And on Sunday, Stompa did not show up for Breakfast. Hmm, would he come in descent time? I was going to drive him and Solvi to Oslo and then back to the Summerhouse again. And I would like to go before the return of all weekend travellers in to Oslo.

He suddenly came, at 2 pm. Anna catched him, and Solvi placed him in his cage. Voila.

When I returned to the Summerhouse. Guess who were laying at Stompa’s fav places in the Garden?

Part 2 - will be posted from the Summerhouse. Come back and enjoy what Rosa and Felicia did when Stompa had left. And what did Stompa look like?

PART 2 : Papa Leaving and Returning to the Summerhouse

Here is Stompa - in his tiny cage - a heritage from his late Mother Opus. He did not refuse to go into it this time. Not by free will, but without resistance and a little help.

Felicia at Stompas favourite restspot - the herbs belowe the platform. She smells well as well

And here: Rosa at Stompa's other favourite Herbs spot - just outside the platform

When I returned about 2 1/2 hours later, Rosa and Felicia took his favourite resting places in the Garden. They allready missed him. And Rosa did not show up for 28 hours. Guess we were anxious. Yes we were. When she showed up - in the secret opening in the roof at 1 am, we were all reliefed. Even Felicia who lay upon me in the bed. Comforting me: She shows up. Miss her cousin you know.

Now Stompa is back to his regular life. Both indoors and outdoors.

Felicia melancholically looks after Stompa - from his favourite observation post

The cousins will meet again the last weekend of September. Next time will be when Anna and I go to Argentina. If not before.

More charming, funny and touching stories you'll find by visiting Gattinas.
