Sunday and Summertime and Sunset

One hour lost, this Sunday Morning. But in half a year one hour will be regained. Back to Natural Time regarding the Sun. Even our Cats reacts. Every half year we "fix" the time.

Photo taken in Düsseldorf, Germany, on March 21- 2009.

If you know the name of the River, you can win a handwritten postcard from Norway.

Have a great week;))

Oslo February 27 - 2009

I did start working from my Home Office this Friday.
Looked out of the Window - Sun from a more or less clear Sky.

I thought, that you my dear reader should, for once, experience some of the views I do have between Home and Office.

Today, it was mild, blue Sky but still Ice in th Container Harbour

It is years ago since we had that much Ice in the Oslo Harbour.

Here it's how it did look like in Autumn/Fall of 2008.
And here is something very different from our Planet Earth (Mrs Lifecruiser)

PhotoHunt -Feb 7 - 2009 - Bridge(s)

Hello all PH friends, I did avoid playing Bridge this weekend. My stock of Cards remains in the Summerhouse. LOL.
In fact, I spent my time to find some Bridges from here and there in my different files on my computer storages (yes. I have several) .
Alle the photos in this post are taken by me or Anna.

(Yeah, we have crossed this famous bridge - photo taken by Anna)

Bridge for me means building/creating connection. From end to end.
I ended up with physical connections. Some very old.
Please take your time, even this is a Photo Hunt. You can learn something that most of your friends and neighbours did not know. By clicking on the Links given. You have the whole Weekend. To enjoy. Your comment will be of less value than your curiousty to learn more.

The first one is very old, build by the Romans. Le Pont du Gard. In Southern France. Orginally it was a Water Bridge, but also for people and horses to cross over the River Gard. Yeah. The Water canal is on the top. Suplying stabel fresh water to the crops year around.
Anna is there. How come?

And here too, Anna.
This is the Bridge to the Bath in one of the most renowned fiords in the World:
Geiranger Fiord. During the very short Summer season, more than a hundred Cruise ships do visit each year
.

This Stone Bridge is not that far away from the Photo above. With other words, it's from Norway. All the Stones are locally picked and shaped. Several hundred years ago.
I'm amazed by the effort and planning and will to build a Bridge like this, you can see the local stones at the Riverside. They, who build the Bridge had to, and did find the right stones. Impressing.

Can you see Anna? Click to see the spectacular Mountains in the background. There is a peak, that are next to unclimbable.

From Mountains in Norway to New Holland, Dutch Village, in Michigan, USA. Here you see a fishing enthusiast fishing from a tiny Bridge.

Well, going into the Nature is not allways easy for People who are dependent on Wheel Chairs. This is from the Music and Instrument Museum at Ringve in Norway. A Bridge to the Museum.
OMG. It seems like Anna has been there as well. Can you please join my next Bridge, which is on the intellectual side:
And interview with Mrs Lifecruiser .
Then Mrs lifecruisers's blog about the interview .
We have created bridges across borders.

More Bridges here at Photo Hunters.

We are moving - TT

Hello dear reader,
1)we will move out to our Summerhome on Friday, no matter of the weather. We can't wait any longer. Rosa and Felicia tells us their way, they are fed up with the 2) Litter Box for the season and they wanna be free hunters outside in the Nature. It's needed, 'cause it seems to be more mice than in several years. The Cats rules.

3) And we miss the beautiful view from our platform. Oslofjord and Islands. The one in the background is more than 200 meters ( about 625 feet) high. It used to be a military and restricted area until not that many years ago. Now it's free admission to that Island (The High Island - Håøya from høy øy lokalt kalt Håya)) and all the douzen others in the area.

4) Not to talk about flowers and green fingers. Even the Cats enjoy our outdoor Greenhouse. Do you see both Rosa and Peder Fur? Clue: One is on the Roof. Click to reveal.

5) Here is Paprika or Sweet/bell pepper - both greens and red - seeds from an organic we did buy 2 years ago.
6) The new seasons ones are allready in good shape for the season to come. But we will keep them in our Winterhome for yet some weeks. (Might still be cold during the Nights.)

7) Our platform is the Paradise Restaurant for Rosa, Stompa and Felicia - Open air 3-star Catelin category. LOL.

8) I do hope we can connect to Internet Friday evening from our Summerhouse. Excuse us if some problems will occure - and also for me packing for our seasonal move this evening. I'll get in touch, read and comment all my blogger friends recent posts ASAP.
9) Season hugs
10) Anna and Tor
11) Rosa and Felicia

Epilog:
12) We brought in the Cats Cages and our Grand Trunck. The Cats ran away. I took a bath in the Tube. Lot's of Salt. When I returned from my "Spa" - the Cats were sniffing on their Cages. But when we where close to them - they ran away again. They are exited to go to the Summer Home, but also feel sentimental to leave a safe winterhome. They are really alike us. That's one of the reasons we adore cats. They a very much a like humans when coming to feelings. Exact the same center in the brain for feelings that homo sapiens.
-- I did learn a new word this evening: (hard to wright though) Miaaoowee mieow
( I do understand - do not forget Cat can understand 700-800 of your words and vica versa?)
13) More hugs

High - keep calm - it's HIGH

HIGH,
What a challenge.
High by drugs, high as is . whatever- My choice is a mix: Beeing high by the lack of Air, Travel and Nature.

First time we went to Northern Chile - in 1995 - we had to explore the new snowless road connection between Chile and Argentina (ending in Antofogasta at the Pacific Coast - we did drive some hours on the Argentinian side in December 2007 - Silver Wedding - but not higher than 4.170 meter).
You might know that Argentina and Chile is divided by the mighty Andes. In the South very rainful. In the North: Dryest place on Planet Earth. The Atacama desert.

We descided to drive up to the highest point of the road. (The local map said 5400 meters above Sea Level - 17716.5 Feet) We did see Birds ( Pink Flamingoes in Bolivia, so close we were to the frontier, at the Green Lake) and other animals that only lives in this arrid area. That will be another post - need to scan

I took some photos and fainted due to lack of Air.
(Photos taken at an elevation over than 5000 meters a-s-l
Volcanoes and mountains around here is from 5800 to 6200 m a s -l
- Can you breath? Yess - but don't run)
But, as you know, I'm still allive. One thing I did learn:

Respect the:
HIGH

From 8:30 AM to 4:14 PM - Thursday 13

TORSDAY 13

Inspired by my good friend and blogfella, RennyBA's article
"From dust to Dawn in December in Oslo" - I descided to take a sidestep from Argentina Adventures. The reason is obvious, I believe you will agree, my dear reader, when you see the pictures taken from outside my office. Christmas Cards - and they are real. Not arranged.

Grassing Horses in the Morning
From when I did arrived this morning around 8:30 am and left around 4:14 pm (It's early leaving due to the Fact we picked up our Cats after 3 weeks at Solvi and Stompa - her Cat), I shot some pictures - 4 U, my dear reader, to imagine how it's here in Oslo right now.

First some Facts. Oslo is situated in the bottom of Oslofjord - 100 km - 63 miles long. The City is sourounded by Hills, and the Downtown City is formed like a Hollow - with a Valley to the East, North and North West. To the South it is a Plateau, falling steep down to the fjord and a Valley and more hills to the South East. There are several Islands and a Pennisula (Bygdoy - where I'm born). Anna and I live in Southern Oslo during the Winters.

In the morning - The Horses - Neighbours to my Office's Parking House - see- no shadows yet.

Same Horses. They do find grass under the Frost.

Before noon I had to drive to Down Town Oslo - Do you see the Fog that has caused all this beauty. And I hope you can Imagine how low the Sun are above the Horizon these days - looooong Shadows. When driving Southwards - these Days when Blue Sky - Take care.

Had to walk out of the Parking House to
remember the scenery above ... Sun is up.

Do you ever have had a scenery like this just outside your Office Parking? Enlarge and you'll disciver oth the farm and Horses.

Noon - same Horses, same Farm. Remark the looong Shadows. And enlarge by clicking on the Photo. Then you will be there without feeling the Cold.

Afternoon - Birches - at 1 AM.

South East view in the very early afternoon

Blushing Trees. If you have taken your time to scroll down as far as this, I'm blushing of Gratitude as well...

Leaving with Flash - result: Not what I saw. Then:

Leaving at 4:14 pm. Another shot - without Flash and Tripod - 3,5 seconds. Am I steady? LOL.

Find more cruisers here. And do not miss Lime's Citizen of the World
(OK - I'll post mine during the weekend - that might be a surprise?)
PS. It's lots more to come from South America, Art Deco in So Be and - just return to read and Z.

A new Tie

WARNING

Read before looking at this honest photo taken by Anna
My wife offered me a new Tie after Halloween.
I said - let me accept the gift after trying and responses from my blogsphere.
- OK , said Anna - then you have to show off
- What do you mean by that, I replied
- You and you Tie
- Me and my Tie?
-Yezz. Simple as that - Only you and your new Tie
- kidding - oh - you are kidding?
- Not at all - just U and your new Tie
- and you want me to .. let others look at this Tie?
- Yeah - show everybody the present
- only me and a Tie?
- Come on - are you a man for your age or what - show off
- How?
- Give me that camera - and then you post it - if else----

After so long a marriage, a man still listens to his wife

So if your old enough to accept a photo of a man, 62 -63 years of age, dressed with a Tie. Only.

Then scroll down - if not Go back to your "Home". OK

Here it comes - me revealed with a Tye. Salman Rushdie says in his books - The "pinks". He was right. I'm pink - but smiling.

The dark Zone is from the the designers "this is modern party Tie" hahahaha .- Choked? I am. Looking at that fat, old man.

Why do I reveal this? Because this is part of living so far north as we do. Dress off when inside during wintertime - when it's warm inside - pretending it's Summer.

PS - Another weekend with family and friends - that's heavenly - but it also means I do - put U as priority 1. ( Premium is for Family) - pls accept.

What do you think about (honestly) about the Pink man and the Tie? Photo by Anna.

My blogger friends - I do not think this is a chock or suprise for most of you - if so, pls tell me. *cause that will be very important for my future blogposts about how we live day by day here in the high north. - And also - what to post when back from Florida in 2 weeks time - from the beach.

... lots more very different to come

Shut Down - but still alive

Wordless Wednesday (from India) here (Sept 19 - 2007)

We are alive. View from the top of our estate - Saturday September 15 - noon. At least, this is a very stimulating view - though, it's a hard climb up the steep rocks to the top. Worth it?

Plastic - here

Original Message:

Hi, I'll be away for some time. No inspiration.

FAQ:
Q: Why?
A:
it's as simple as this:
Spending the whole afternoon and evening only to upload one post - waiting and waiting - loose connection - reestablish connection etc etc - watch the screen where nothing happens, check modem lamps, antennas, , having about no time to comment and read other blogs - is so frustrating - driving me mad. I want a life.
Therefore as a rule, I will post only to WW and PH from office (no more time generally not available) until we are back in the Winterhome in 4 weeks time.
I've posted on http://toraamusic.blogspot.com my mood right now.

PS. I'll post from the Norwegian Mountains end of September (21-23) (CyberCruise)

PS 2: We will be in Amsterdam the weekend (28-30) and I'm in Riga Oct 9-11 and moving to Winterhome Oct 6-7. I'm also invited to my daughter in Miami.

PS 3: We will have dinner with Blogger friends end of October.

Q: Can we contact you?
A: I'm available on my e-mail

Q: Why is that?
A: Because e-mails normally does not have pictures, thus I can live with the slow, unstable line

Q: Do you feel frustrated?
A: What an insane question

Q: What will you do about it?
A: Read above. Only some weeks, and I'm back to normal. Pls be patient.

Q: When will you be back to normal?
A: I'll post Wordless Wednesday and Photo Hunters from my Office.
I'll also post from the Norwegian Mountains end of September (21-23) (CyberCruise)

Q: Will you post comments to your bloggerfriends posts?
A: I'll do my best - from office - in between. That might be very irregular. Hope you can excuse me.

Q: What will you say to your readers?
A: Love you all. You are such important inspirators. And I learn so much from you, I would not by any means miss a single of your posts?

Q: Can you read/upload posts?
A: Posts/sites with a few elements to upload takes a reasonable amount of time, but, "advanced" i.e. with to many fancy elements, it's takes too long - even "time outs".

Q: A last comment?
A: As said before: Love you all. I'll be back to normal soon. Hugs to you all from us in the Summerhouse.

Photo Hunters September 1 - 2007

Please do not be frustrated. The DIRT is after this short text.
It was very well planned. Our Mushroom "hunting" in the wilderness this Saturday. We have had a secret place for years. With plenty of Mushrooms. More than we could bring back. Positive as we are, we equipped with what mushroom pickers allways bring: A wooden basket (no 2 large) and small, sharp knives. Went into the Car, and drove for some "secret" time, and into the wilderness. Mushroom paradise.

What was there? Dirt. All destroyed. Our Mushroom paradise destroyed.

TORs - August 30 - My last post

Dear readers,

the headline is correct.
This is my last post.
Sorry. I'm fond of you all.
It's been a blast.
But time changes.
I have been a blogger for one year Friday August 31.
Everything has an end.
I'm not able to change that.
My last story is from our Canoe tour last Saturday.
In the Wilderness and the sound of Nature and the paddles.

1) Friday, August 24 - 2007 - Norway, South East:

Radio/TV/Internet: Weatherforcast for Saturday, August 25: Variable - may be showers, may be Sunny, may be windy, may be chilly, maybe maybe maybe...

2) Still Friday early evening:
To cold to sit out at the Platform.

We lit up the fireplace - old newspapers and wood. Cold and humid. At least we tried to have a pleasant time in front of our tiny fireplace. But fire? No, only smoke. You know, not up into the chimney - but directly down and into our small "livingroom". Smokealarm - piiiiiip .

At least the 3 of them worked according to product descriptions. Not bad. But it's a hell for your ears to stop that noise ----

3) August 25 - Saturday:

4) 6 am: Sunny - 14 C

5) 7 am: Sunny - 15 C - some wind

6) 8 am: Sunny - 15 C - still windy

7) 9 am: Sunny - temp? We slept again

---

8) b11 am: Sunny - 20 C - hmm - what to do?

9) 12 am: Sunny - 20 C - Brunch

10) 12:30 am: Sunny: 20C - Canoe on top of the Car

11) 1:30 pm: 20 C - changing wind directions - Started canoeing in the wilderness - on the Lakes

Then: 4 hours completly incorporated with the nature. Only the sounds of birds, some amphiums - queck-queck, insects, jumping fishes - splash, a moose, flowers, waterfalls, wild blueberies, partridgeberries, cloudberries, crowberies, windsounds from the leafes of the different trees.....

12) and a beach for our own - skinny dipping - *giggles*

13) 6 pm: Shopping - the tiny grocery store did not have our cats fav's

13.5) 6:30 pm: 17 C - Time for Cat feeding and some moister lotion

That was the end of my year as a blogger.

Please enjoy our tour into to unknown:

Here you can see Anna's Croc - to the left. But where is Anna?

In the Lake of course. To cold for me to swim. Besides, if we both were in the water at the same time; who could take this photo?

Anna, prepared for the return to "civilisation":

Returning over the lower lake. Can you feel the silence and the sound of nature?

Well, this was my last post in my first year as a blogger. Goodbye.

PS. See you in my second year as a blogger, I hope. Starting August 31-2007

PHOTO HUNTERS Fake

OK , I do admit it , this was not my first thought when the theme were FAKE: 'cause this is real and fake but fake with nature. Several times - fake. It's not water made to wine. It's real fake;)

Glass is fake from sand - right?
All you see from nature in the glass is true but also fake.
The sky around the glass, well a little bit fake as well..

More fake here at Photo Hunters

OK- OK -I have more "fake-nature"
